Gypsum board is the generic name for a family of products comprised mainly of a non-combustible gypsum core and paper facings.

Gypsum board is commonly referred to as: drywall, wallboard, plasterboard or sheetrock.

Gypsum is a mineral found in sedimentary rock formations, which contains chemically combined water that is driven off as steam when subjected to high heat, effectively making it fire resistant.

For these qualities and more, Gypsum board is now the most common interior finish in use.

Types of Gypsum Board:

• Standard - is used as a surface layer for walls and ceilings, available in square edges.
• Water Resistant Board - made with a water-resistant core and water-resistant face paper. Also known as "green" board. Designed as a ceramic tile backer board.
• Fire Resistant- It is a special formula to produce fire resistant gypsum board.
• Gypsum Liner board - available ½ -inch thickness and used primarily in area separation wall systems.
• Soft board - designed for exterior use under protected overhangs and walkways.
• Gypsum sheathing-used as an underlayment in exterior walls for structural stability and fire- protection. Available in treated and non-treated core for water-resistance.

AMA Vinyl Gypsum Ceiling Tiles
Al Etihad Group approached with great success the delicate issue of closing the gypsum board manufacturing circle by introducing the essential and highly praised vinyl gypsum ceiling tiles bearing its brand name AMA® Vinyl Gypsum Ceiling Tiles.
These gypsum tiles are composed of PVC laminated series gypsum boards bonded to high quality polyethylene film with plasterboard; this kind has many designs. Both sides laminated with PVC, and four edges concealed with plastic paper, make it is six-water-proofing. Ceiling Tile which is the cleanable surface, will offer an elegant and beautiful appearance if it is co-utilized with the baking varnish metal.
